Competency Consulting

Claymore has more than twenty years experience in the development of competency profiles and competency management processes that will give a great return on investment. With a database of more than 500 competency profiles across a wide variety of sectors we can offer an efficient starting point for the development of any set of job specific competencies. Appropriately structured competencies with a process for their objective assessment are a critical part of getting a good ROI from a competency based initiative. We develop assessment criteria for all the competency profiles that we provide. The development of workplace specific competencies is an iterative and consultative process that requires "buy in" from employees; it works most efficiently when the consultative process is leavened by baseline data from generic competencies that include units of competence and assessment criteria.

Instructional Design

Appropriate instructional design ensures learners get what they need, when they need it and in a form they can readily assimilate and use.

We begin by identifying the instructional goals. Based on these we:

  • Develop learning objectives
  • Define an instructional strategy (self-study, instructor led, CBT, WBT)
  • Develop an assessment process
  • Outline a course structure
  • Develop content standards and templates
  • Content templates provide a common reference point for all team members throughout the development phase.
